A mother who wanted to give birth to a sibling for her son was shocked when she found out that she was expecting not one, but three. In 2019, Genevieve (pictured), or Genna Knox, and her husband from California were hoping to give birth to their six-year-old son Liam, a younger sibling. At the age of 38, Genna got pregnant with relief. It wasn’t until she was 20 weeks that she got a surprise during her ultrasound.

In an interview with Today, the mother explained that the nurse doing the ultrasound asked them if they were having twins. “No, I’m not. then I looked up and saw, clear as day, that there were two babies,” she said. The fifth-grade teacher added that she and her husband felt like “the luckiest people in the world” when they heard the news.

“I started having children at a later age and I didn’t know if I would be able to have them,” she says. “We were very happy,” Gena added. Nine weeks after they adjusted to the news that they were expecting twins, they were in for another huge surprise. During the 4D ultrasound, the ultrasound technician asked when Genna found out she was having twins.

“I said, ‘Oh my God, you’re not going to believe this,’ and then I told him what happened at the 20-week scan,” only for the technician to shock her with the news that she was expecting triplets. “I hardly remember anything about that moment. I was in complete shock, she said.

After 33 weeks of pregnancy, she gave birth to three girls – Kaylee, Lily and Cecilia. Genna often documents her family adventures on social media and calls Cecilia her “hidden triplet.” “She has a very big character. She’s hilarious and we love her to death, but she definitely marches to the beat of her own drum,” she said.
