A coyote attack injured a girl on Huntington Beach, California
Huntington Beach, California (AP) – Officials say a coyote attacked and wounded a girl on the famous Huntington Beach in Southern California.
A police spokesman said the attack took place Thursday night on the beach near Huntington Beach Pier.
The girl was hospitalized with severe but incompatible with life injuries.
Police later shot two coyotes, killing one but the other escaped.
For several weeks the city has been intensifying its efforts to catch and asking residents to report coyote observations.
Huntington Beach has one of the classic surfing vacations in California, and it is known as the “Surfing City of the United States.”
