The mother of triplets has revealed why she never compares her three-year-old daughters after showing off their very different coloring styles. Genevieve “Gena” Knox, 43, of San Diego, California, shared how her triplets — Cecilia, Lily and Kaylee — painted a rainbow color-by-number in a viral TikTok video that has been viewed more than 15 million times.

“Why do they say NOT to compare your TRIPLETS,” the fifth grade teacher wrote in the text on the screen. Knox first showed Cecilia’s rainbow, which was only partially colored, although she followed some color guidelines.

Lily's work was next, and she chose her original color scheme, preferring to use mostly red, orange and yellow pencils with small touches of green, blue and purple.

The video ended with mom revealing Kaylee's almost perfect rainbow. Not only did she stay between the lines, but she followed all six color guidelines.

“Disclaimer: I love all my children equally and do not judge their worth based on how well they draw the lines,” Knox noted in the caption. Thousands of people commented on the video, with many correctly guessing that Kaylee was the oldest of the triplets.

“Cecilia is carefree. Lily is a rebel - F the rules, she makes her own. And Kaylee is disciplined and structured. Together they conquer the world,

Knox, who also has six-year-old son Liam, explained in a follow-up video that she wanted to emphasize her daughters' unique strengths.

Knox later denied allegations that she was helping her daughter with an art project, sharing a time-lapse image of herself carefully painting another rainbow, which took her about 40 minutes.

Knox also shared some details about her daughters’ personalities, saying that Cecilia is “a bit of a performer” and probably wanted to “run around and do different things” rather than paint. She described Lily as “big” and the most athletic of her sisters, noting that she was the first to swim. Unsurprisingly, Kaylee “loves to color and will sit very focused.” “She calls herself an artist,” Knox explained.
