FIREBAUGH, Calif. (KFSN) – Fresno County residents received an unexpected visit from a black bear on Monday morning.

One of the residents photographed the bear after spotting an animal in a pistachio garden near Gerrold and Nis avenues in Fairboat.
He said the bear went into the yard of the house across the road and climbed a tree.
Officers from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife were able to safely catch the bear. They plan to return it to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Fish and wildlife officials said the bear was an adult male who probably came from the Panosh Hills in search of food.
