The Department of Justice is suing Steve Wynn
The Justice Department announced Tuesday that it is suing Steve Wynn, former CEO of Wynn Resorts.
The Justice Department claims Wynn contacted Trump administration officials on behalf of China in 2017. At the time, the country wanted the United States to revoke a visa or remove a businessman accused of corruption in China, according to the Ministry of Justice.
Win directly made a request to former President Donald Trump, according to the Justice Department.
“He had a lot of discussions with the then president and high-ranking officials in the White House and the National Security Council,” the Justice Ministry said in a statement.
The Justice Department believes Win acted “out of a desire to protect his business interests in Macau.”
The Justice Department is trying to force Wing to register as a foreign agent for China.
