
The remains found in Nevada have been identified as a missing person from California
CARSAN CITY, Nevada (AP) – The remains of a man found buried in a shallow grave in rural Nevada last year have been identified as the remains of a California man who went missing in 2020.
Officials said the Washo County Forensics Service identified the remains of 26-year-old Jared Stefansky of Reading.

The remains were found on March 16, 2021 near the Rye Patch Reservoir in Pershing County.
Stefansky’s family told Reading police that he was last seen before a trip to Nevada, and the news of the disappearance was passed on to Nevada authorities.
This was investigated by the sheriff’s offices of Carson City and Lyon.
