The man was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Sunday morning in Vista, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
The collision occurred at the intersection of West Vista Way and Emerald Drive around 11:15 p.m.
Sheriff’s investigators said the motorcyclist was heading north on Emerald when he crashed into a vehicle heading west, on West Vista. It is unclear who had the right of way at the time of the accident.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that would require surgery, the sheriff’s department said.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
It is unclear whether the accident was caused by drugs or alcohol.
