11 accused of fraud with social security payments in Tulare district

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) – Eleven people have been arrested for stealing thousands of dollars in government aid in Tular County, authorities said Tuesday.

The Tulare District Attorney’s Office’s Bureau of Investigation arrested Ja Li Xi, 35, of Visalia; Jose Cervantes, 31, of Porterville; Nasir Se, 32, of Visalia; Rosa Gili, 53, of Porterville; Delia Velázquez, 38, from Visalia; Marla Martinez, 45, of Tulare; Loretta Hughes, 28, of Visalia; Angel Gutierrez, 41, of Tulare; Kayla Ramos, 27, of Visalia; Rosa Ruelas, 30, Tulare; and William Gutierrez, 40, of Visalia last week.

Investigators said all eleven suspects did not report income or a change of family to receive state aid.

Officials said more than $ 90,000 was obtained by fraud.

The suspects were jailed in Tulare County jail on several charges.
