450 cited, 16 arrested and 4 firearms found during traffic and crime operation in Victorville – VVNG.com

VICTORVILLE, CA (VVNG.com) – On May 13, 2022, the Victorville Police Department conducted an operation to protect traffic and stop crime in the city of Victorville as part of the regional traffic operations High Desert (DRTO).

The operation was assisted by officers from the Hesperia Police Department, the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Office, the Apple Valley Police Department and the Rialto Police Department.

The operation focused on several city roads.

As a result, 719 traffic stops were initiated. Out of 719 traffic stops, deputies wrote 450 quotes, 16 were arrested, 4 firearms were found. Specialists from the Victorville Police Department Sheriff’s Office assisted MPs with 18 parking spaces and towed 48 cars.

The San Bernardino County Supervisory Board has authorized funds from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to assist in the fight against crime throughout the county. The county’s anti-crime money is an ongoing collaboration between the San Bernardino County Supervisory Board and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The program provides additional funding to the Sheriff’s Department to provide law enforcement related to quality of life issues affecting county citizens. The goal of the program is to reduce crime, improve security and improve the quality of life of San Bernardino County citizens. Funding for the Rialto Police Department’s involvement in this operation was provided through the Office of Road Safety (OTS) for co-operation.
