Alyssa Carlson Schwartz was about to begin her weather report on KCAL News Saturday morning when her face suddenly disappeared, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she was jolted to the ground.

Former Mrs California has since posted on social media that she’s “going to be fine” and said she’s thankful it wasn’t her heart this time.

Carlson Schwartz was referring to her 2014 diagnosis of a “leaky heart valve,” which was discovered after she threw up mid-show.

Just hours after she passed out on air Saturday morning, Carlson Schwartz posted a message on her Facebook page around 2:30 p.m., saying, “Thank you for all the texts, calls and well wishes.” I’ll be fine!’

On Sunday, she continued to update her viewers on her Instagram stories, along with photos of well-wishes, flowers and gifts, writing that she had been released from the hospital and was on the mend.

“Thank you for all the good wishes while I recover from my head injury. I’m out of the hospital and feeling fine. lots of sleep and even some pizza – TY’

Another publication confirmed that the incident was unrelated to her heart.

“Luckily, it’s not my heart this time. I’ve had over a hundred text messages and they keep coming, so if I don’t respond, that’s why.’

During Saturday’s broadcast, Carlson Schwartz tried to keep a smile on her face, but her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she slowly lowered herself onto her hands until her head was inches from the table. Then her legs went up, and she fell to the ground from the push.

Her co-hosts Nichelle Medina and Rachel Kim didn’t seem to notice Schwartz passed out at first, with Medina addressing the former Mrs. California directly, saying, “Alice, this really is the calm before the storm.”

Seconds later, Kim lets out a startled “ouch” and can be seen squirming in her chair, trying to see Schwartz across the room.

“You know, we’re going to go ahead and take a break right now,” Medina tells the audience.

KCAL News is posted Later that day, Carlson Schwartz was “on the mend and back on social media.”

“We have heard from many people who are also concerned for Alice’s welfare. We also want to thank those of you who reached out for your thoughts and prayers.

Alice will be back with our Next Weather team on KCAL News as soon as she is well enough to return.”

Carlson Schwartz told her viewers via social media that she’s thankful it wasn’t her heart.

After Carlson Schwartz threw up on air in 2014, she was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve and doctors told her they didn’t know when a valve would age.

“They told me that eventually the valve would probably have to be replaced. They didn’t know when it was getting old,” Carlson Schwartz told KGET Bakersfield, where she previously served as chief meteorologist, in a 2018 interview.

Carlson Schwartz, who joined KCAL in 2021, and her husband, Neil Schwartz, led a healthier lifestyle and welcomed a baby girl into their lives, a child who helped heal her heart.

“It turns out that the valve has actually started to recover. My baby’s stem cells began to heal my heart,” Carlson Schwartz said at the time.
