A 22-year-old woman was arrested Friday night after she allegedly stabbed a man and her boyfriend during a phone argument in the East Village community, San Diego police said.

The argument happened around 10:30 p.m. near 14th Street and Imperial Avenue

Police said one of the victims, a 19-year-old man, lent the woman his cell phone and when she didn’t return it, a fight broke out. The suspect reportedly stabbed the man several times in the back, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.

The victim’s boyfriend tried to intervene during the argument and was also stabbed, Himes said.

The suspect was booked into the jail Saturday morning on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
