Actor and comedian Jim Carrey is saying goodbye to his longtime home in Los Angeles, California.

The star of the first and second “Sonic the Hedgehog” films has put a trendy ranch-style home in Brentwood on the real estate market for $28.9 million. Although the price tag is quite high, the amenities in and around the beautiful property justify the cost.

“Situated on two private, serene acres, this sprawling, mostly one-story ranch home is a one-of-a-kind magical preserve,” says the Sotheby’s International Realty listing. “On the market for the first time in nearly 30 years, this meticulously maintained celebrity estate sits on over 280 feet of gated frontage, right in the heart of Brentwood.”

Features of the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom home that stand out include:

  • Natural lighting

  • Beamed ceilings

  • Mansard windows

  • Fireplaces

  • Many glass doors

  • Inner courtyard

  • Chef’s kitchen

  • Pear trees

  • Primary covered balcony

  • Theater

  • Garden

  • A platform for yoga

  • Tennis court

  • Waterfall pool

  • House by the pool

Carey began his career on the sketch comedy show In Living Color and quickly rose to fame starring in comedies such as Ace Ventura: Home Detective, The Mask and Liar Liar, according to IMDb. He recently starred in the TV series Joke and played Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live in 2020.

The list is hosted by Janelle Friedman.
