“Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” combines witty nostalgia for adults as well as Disney entertainment for children

NEW YORK – “Sometimes some crimes go through cracks. But these two shoes are gaining ground.”

That’s right, in 30 years “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” is back!

If you’re 35-45+, you may have spent your childhood days with Chip and Dale and the rest of the Rangers team.

This film puts your favorite investigators, now distant from each other, in modern-day Los Angeles and plays not only for children but also for adults who love a dose of nostalgia.

“I have two kids, they’re 9 and 11 years old, and sometimes they want to watch a movie that’s really just for kids, and that’s when I leave the room or take a nap, and sometimes they watch movies where it’s for them and it’s for me, so when I read the script, I was excited that it has the potential, as you just mentioned, to play for both audiences, ”said director Akiwa Schaefer.

Shafer is one third of the comedy trio “Lonely Island”. Another third of this group is the very funny Andy Samberg from SNL and the fame of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.

I mean, you know me, all my man Kieve says is “yes” from yo soy, which is a misuse of this, so I’d say Dale talked to me, he’s pretty stupid, and a fool, and fluffy, very fluffy, like me, ”said Samberg. John Mulani’s “Chip” plays the perfect natural to the insane “Dale”.

The film explores the many types of animation used over the past 60 years, and combines them with live action.

It was part of what made me want to star in the film because I felt that “Rabbit Roger” was the gold standard of live animation, but 30 years have passed since then and all the different animation styles come as it is what would it be like to see them all together? ” Said Schaefer.

Actress Kiki Lane, who plays an investigator named “Eli”, is helping to bridge the gap between the animation world and the world of live action movies. She is the only “human” main character of the film.

“No, it was never lonely (the beginning) because Akiva and the whole team that gathered around me were, I mean, we all had such a great time because we enjoyed the fantasy and reconnected with the child. in all of us, ”Lane said.

She helps Chip and Dale try to find out what happened to their friend and former colleague in the movie “Rescue Rangers” Monterey Jack.

“During this time, the animation has changed quite a bit, and so to become part of a film that emphasizes this and mocks it, but also celebrates it, so I thought, of course, why don’t I run around and solve the crime with Chip and Dale.” said Lane.

The film has a PG rating, and you’ll see why, when smelly cheese is compared to the illicit drug market, Peter Pan has really grown, and there are jokes about the traffic capture technology used in “Polar Express,” leaving the characters “weird, dead eyes”.

The premiere of “Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers” will take place on May 20, 2022 exclusively at Disney +.
