Class Start Ceremony 2022

The opening ceremonies will be held May 20-21 for Fresno students. Here are the upcoming dates and places of celebration in 2022.

Grand opening on Friday, May 20:

  • Craig School of Business: from 8 to 9:30 in the center of Save Mart (SMC)
  • Physiotherapy Department: Satellite Student Union (SSU) 10 a.m. to noon
  • College of Social Sciences: From 10:15 to 11:45 at SMC
  • College of Arts and Humanities: From 12.30 to 14.00 in the SMC
  • Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology: From 14:45 to 16:15 at SMC
  • Nurse Attachment Ceremony: 16.00 at the SDU
  • College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics: 17-18: 40 at SMC
  • Kremen School of Education and Human Development: 19:15 at SMC

Grand opening Saturday, May 21:

  • Lyles College of Engineering: From 8 to 9:30 in SMC
  • College of Health and Human Services: From 10:15 to 11:45 at SMC
  • Graduation lunch at the camp: South at the North Gym 118
  • International convocation: From 12.00 to 13.30 at the SDU
  • Graduation Celebrations in Asia and the Pacific: From 12.30 to 14.00 in the SMC
  • African American Student Recognition Ceremony: From 15 to 16.45 in SMC
  • Native American Graduation Ceremony: 16:30 at the SDU
  • Rainbow graduation: 17-18 hours at Peters Education Center
  • Celebration of the beginning of Cycans / Latinos: 7 to 9:30 p.m. at SMC

According to Fresno State News, the opening ceremonies of colleges and schools will be broadcast live at the opening of Fresno website.

Proof of vaccination or a negative test for COVID-19 upon entering the arena is not required for SMC activities, but is an “overwhelming recommendation” due to rise requirements for mega-indoor events on April 1, according to the California Department of Public Health.

During the opening ceremonies parking around the SMC will be free.
