Disney’s famous Dole Whip frozen treat is FINALLY hitting grocery stores next month — so what’s YOUR favorite flavor?
- This April, the treat, previously only available at Disney Parks, will be available in the freezer
- Over the years, additional flavorings have been added to the standard pineapple Dole Whip for consumers to make at home
- It’s unclear when exactly in April Dole Whips will make their supermarket debut
Dole has announced that it will finally make its famous Whip confection available in grocery store freezers this spring.
The treat, once exclusively available at the Disney parks, will soon be available to customers in their own homes as the warm season approaches.
Consumers will be able to purchase a dairy-free dessert with pineapple, mango and strawberry flavors.
Dole Whip is now considered a staple at the Disney parks, and some travelers even plan trips to Disneyland in California and Disney World at Florida specially to taste the frozen treat.
In April, Dole will launch a line of Dole Whips in the grocery store in pineapple, strawberry and mango flavors.
The iconic Disney Parks Dole Whip, which was originally introduced on Aloha Island in the Magic Kingdom and has since gained significant popularity
Over the years, the conglomerate has introduced several innovations to the popular iced treat, including new flavors such as watermelon, lemon, lime, orange, raspberry-lemon, chocolate and vanilla.
Part of the appeal of the popular snack is the customer’s ability to personalize the treat in a waffle iron, cup or in the form of a drinkable pour – with the option of adding alcohol.
The shelf version of the snack will allow lovers and those who have never had this pleasure before, to customize whips in any way, without leaving their own kitchen.
Some popular DIY options to try include the Pineapple Upside Down Cake – which is, you guessed it, a whip sitting on top of an upside down mini cake.
There’s also a sparkling sunshine float served with orange cream and apple cider, Barq’s Root Bear Float, Simba’s Sunset with pineapple and strawberries, a Dole Whip Lime Frozen Margarita and a Habanero Lime Galley Shack Swirl served with tequila.
At Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Island, where Dole Whips were first served, the staff is adding a splash of coconut rum to the soft serve upon request, a poolside option suitable for any temperature this summer.
This option could be especially useful this summer, when Disney park tickets have skyrocketed to all-time highs.
Each pack will include four cups of the fruity summer snack, and the brand plans to announce more details on where the cups can be purchased closer to the launch date.
In addition to its famous whipped dessert, Dole also announced other new products in grocery stores, including smoothies, pineapple juice drinks and more.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Disney released a recipe for the favorite frozen treat so those not visiting the theme park can make the creamy dessert in their kitchen
Over the years, many additions and flares have been created to allow consumers to customize their Dole Whips – such as the one shown here, which appears to be a classic Dole Whips served on orange or pineapple juice
During the COVID-19 lockdown that closed all Disney parks in April 2020, the House of Mouse decided to share the recipe for the iconic treat.
In July 2022, the company released an updated recipe in honor of National Whip Day.
The basic recipe is relatively easy to recreate and includes just three ingredients – about half a cup of pineapple juice, two cups of frozen pineapple chunks, and one cup of dairy-free vanilla ice cream.
Once these ingredients are mixed together, you will have homemade whip. But come April, even this simple recipe won’t be needed to get your very own Disneyland-style whip.
