
Escondido police checkpoint leads to DUI arrest, 19 citations

A motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during a driver’s license/sobriety test in Escondido, authorities said Sunday.
The checkpoint at El Norte Parkway and Ash Street began at 6 p.m. Saturday and ended at 10:30 p.m. Escondido Police Department reported.
Nineteen drivers at the checkpoint were booked for driving without a license or with a suspended license.
Police said 781 vehicles were registered at the checkpoint.
