Feedback from passengers on Northgate, Freeport Boulevards encouraged

The City of Sacramento continues to insist on receiving feedback from suburban and public facilities about the city’s two difficult and old corridors. The city is committed to modernizing and enhancing security, as well as improving access and the overall user experience along Northgate and Freeport Boulevards. The process began last fall when city officials began outreach work, seeking feedback from the community about issues for those who drive, walk, bike or ride these corridors. “We’ve heard from different perspectives and experiences up and down these corridors,” said Leslie Monseba, transport planner and project manager for the Northgate Plan. “Depending on the way of moving, the time of day and the capabilities of the resident, there is a wide range of conditions that need to be addressed. I think the people we talked to during our outreach will be happy with what we came up with. ” Over the past few months, city officials have analyzed conditions on both streets to help inform potential design concepts to improve the user experience. The city is now preparing to present these new concepts to the public and demand feedback from them, according to a press release. “I was pleasantly surprised by the level of information we received in the initial information phase,” said Drew Hart, a transport planner. and project manager for the Freeport Plan. “These new design concepts have elements that follow directly from what we’ve heard from the community, and that’s exactly what we were hoping for.” A workshop on alternative projects for Northgate Boulevard is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight. a workshop on Freeport was held in late April.
