VICTOR VALLEY, CA (VVNG.com) — The US National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a “High Wind Warning” in effect at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 and ends at 8:00 a.m. Sunday.

According to the agency, strong winds will begin to increase by noon today and increase overnight. Wind gusts of 50-75 meters per second are possible in deserts and foothills. The strongest winds will be felt in areas such as Cajon Pass and along the slopes facing the desert.

Light rain (20%) is also possible this evening and overnight in the Victor Valley area.

The NWS said the damaging winds will bring down trees and power lines, which could cause widespread power outages. Movement will be difficult, especially for high-level vehicles. Motorists should also watch out for flying sand and dust, which can reduce visibility.

The air temperature in the area will be 60 degrees during the day and 40 degrees at night.
