The next time you fill up your car, you might feel the pinch in your wallet.

Gasoline prices are on the rise in California this week — and across the country, according to the American Automobile Association.

The current average price of regular fuel in California is $4.55 a gallon, up more than 10 cents from last week’s $4.44. Last month, the average price was $4.39, up about 16 cents.

The San Luis Obispo, Napa and San Francisco areas have the highest prices in the state, at least around $4.80 for regular gas.

The current national average for regular fuel is $3.50 a gallon, up 8 cents from last week.

“Even though winter storms in late 2022 contributed to lower supplies,” AAA said. newscast on Thursday“a mild winter this month may have led to more drivers getting behind the wheel, pushing up pump prices.”

Prices are likely to remain this way for some time.
