I went to Kardashian’s favorite salad bar – it was fun to shake, but I wasn’t impressed with the taste
A KARDASHIAN sister’s pow-wow is never complete without a big salad bowl and a tall iced tea.
I tried Health Nut’s main family lunch in Woodland Hills, CA, and shaking the bowl was more satisfying than eating the $13 contents.
Between the new Kardashian show and the old one, the number of times each sister has been seen munching rumen out of a plastic bowl is too numerous to count.
And their matte lipstick never seems to stop them from taking a bite or a drink.
Whether in the kitchen or on the couch, their family get-togethers demand the same order at one Los Angeles establishment, Health Nut.
Watching Kourtney shake and Kim crunch on TV for so many years was enough to encourage me to give it a try.
However, I didn’t fly from New York to California to get a taste; no salad is worth it.
But when the opportunity presented itself, I made sure Health Nut was at the top of my restaurant list.
And upon further inspection, I’m glad it was. But not for the right reasons.
The celebrity-endorsed salad spot has three locations: Woodland Hills, Sherman Oaks and Manhattan Beach.
The original location is conveniently close to the Kardashian homes in Calabasas. I had to go there.
Tucked away in a quaint open-air mall, you’d never know the valley’s much-coveted eatery is right across the street from McDonald’s.
However, when you step inside, it’s clear that the Queens of Calabasas are often there.
The atmosphere at Health Nut is low-key—not what you’d expect from the Kardashian women.
An all-gray contemporary interior mimics a clean, useful menu.
I decided to take my moment for Kim and grab her favorite salad and tea combo: Chinese Chicken Salad and Mango Grintini.
For just $13.75, all health nut salads come in a big green plastic bowl.
I spent $19.38 on a salad and a small iced tea.
Thinking that only takeout orders would come with the plastic wrap that I always see the Kardashians eating out of: I acted like I wasn’t eating there to get it.
But every salad, whether you dine in or take out, comes in a disposable bowl.
And I’m not sure it’s environmentally friendly.
Still, ordering it to go had the added benefit of slathering on the dressing so I could shake the salad like a Kardashian.
I felt like I had been working out my whole life up to this point, and doing it with real lettuce was something completely different.
The sweet and spicy mix of shredded carrots, pickled ginger, romaine lettuce, pepper-dusted chicken, delicious croutons and a tangy sesame dressing made for a perfect meal.
As someone who loves this type of salad, I wouldn’t say I was impressed or seriously impressed, but I was pleasantly pleased.
You can’t go wrong with a cool crunch and a smooth refreshing drink to wash it all down.
However, I had better. And actually, I was better off in Los Angeles.
My favorite thing about the salad, aside from tossing it with everything I had, was that it kept in the fridge until the next day.
Since the portion was so big, I wanted to save it for later.
But whether the salad, poured with dressing, will retain its taste and edibility after two hours, always remains a question.
Luckily, this healthy nut salad worked.

The dining experience at a place favored by the Kardashian sisters was reasonably priced.
Would I go back? Of course. Will I make an effort? Probably not.
