Mom June Shannon could use your prayers right now.
In devastating news shared by TMZ on Wednesday, we’ve learned that the longtime reality star is now under a doctor’s care after what was supposed to be a routine visit to the doctor’s office two days prior.
According to celebrity insiders, Shannon told her doctor on Monday that she was experiencing severe headaches and dizziness.
The WEtv personality has reportedly been hospitalized ever since, undergoing numerous medical tests.
As of this writing, doctors have yet to determine the cause of Shannon’s health problems.
Apparently, Shannon spoke to TMZ from the hospital, however, and emphasized that her condition was NOT related to any relapse or substance abuse.
Mama June is, of course, the mother of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. The couple became stars on the small screen in Toddlers & Tiaras, which chronicled Alana’s life as a child beauty pageant contestant.
Years later, Shannon caught her own spin-off.
Originally titled Mama June: From Not to Hot, the series originally focused on Shannon’s weight loss journey.
The show is now called Mama June: The Road to Redemption and follows June’s journey from a full-blown drug user and murderous mother… to the one she says she was sober for over a year.
Shannon has struggled with many health issues over the years.
Untreated childhood cataracts left Shannon legally blind.
She has also dealt with serious weight issues, having previously undergone a gastric sleeve procedure and a tummy tuck to help her lose weight.
For now, Shannon has put on a few pounds that she lost years ago, but she’s happy with where she’s at.
“With my weight loss, I’m at a healthy weight for COVID, as I like to tell people. I gained probably about 60-70 pounds,” Shannon told TooFab in 2021.
“Am I happy the way I am? yeah When I was a size 2 by 150 I was pretty damn small.
“Now I’m 250 and I feel good. Even when I was 500, people didn’t believe I was 500.”
Shannon married Justin Stroud in March. The union came after she ended her seemingly violent relationship with now-ex Gino Doak.
“I’m thankful for the man I found, Justin,” she said of Stroud on the TLC family show, adding at the time:
“I have a wonderful man here.”
Even her daughters caught the wedding.
“We didn’t know about it,” Lauryn Efird told E! July news.
“I did get a receipt in my mailbox saying she applied for a marriage license. Then I asked her about it very recently. She denied it. And finally she said, “Oh, I’m married,” and we were really, really shocked…
“It definitely caught me off guard because my mom always said she would never get married.
“But I mean, my mom now, she’s definitely different.”
