
Kyle police are arresting in connection with a tire cut
Police detained Kyle on Monday after many cars had their tires cut in the Woodlands and Cool Springs areas on Monday.
Kyle Police Department has arrested 35-year-old Russell Kershaw of Kyle in connection with a tire cut.
Officials said that early Monday morning, the KPD dispatch service began receiving calls about the cut tires – the first call came from the 400 Evening Star quarter at 3:48 p.m. Officers were sent to the address, and later after the inspection found more cars with cut tires on several streets. neighborhood, police said.
Officers contacted vehicle owners and accepted 31 reports of incidents involving the Woodlands and Cool Springs.
At about 11:45 p.m. on Monday, another call was made about the tire cut. Police said a resident of the Silver Springs Band spotted the man acting suspiciously and called 911. Officers responded to the call and found Kershaw in the process of cutting new tires.
The KPD said it found that 16 more tires had been cut in the Cool Springs area on Monday night.
Kershaw was taken into custody for 16 tires, which he found during the cutting process, and found a knife that they believed was used in the incidents.
Police said that after watching the video, 31 more incidents from before had been added to his charges. Kershaw was sentenced to Hayes County Jail on two counts of a felony, a felony in a state jail.
