Neil Patrick Harris regrets the plate with the corpse of Amy Winehouse
Neil Patrick Harris has left an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouths of some people after an image of a meat plate similar to the corpse of Amy Winehouse from his 2011 Halloween party reappeared on the internet.
The How I met your mother alum told Entertainment Weekly that a gruesome edible exhibition was filed at a Halloween party he and his husband David Burtka hosted in October 2011, just three months after the British singer tragically died of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27.
The plate depicted a decomposed, bloodied version of the singer lying on the autopsy table, complete with her iconic hive and the appearance of some of her tattoos. Out of her mouth hangs a cigarette next to a small card called “Amy Winehouse’s Corpse,” which explained that the mourning meal consisted of “beef ribs, pork, chicken sausage in a spicy barbecue sauce.” Buzzfeed News.
Now, more than a decade later, Harris apologizes for the insensitive image of Winehouse, which has again provoked a mandatory reaction on social media.
“It was unfortunate then and it remains unfortunate now,” Harris said in a statement to EW.
He added: “Amy Winehouse has been a talent that appears once in a generation and I am very sorry that this image has been damaged.”
The photo of the disturbing display was originally posted in a remote post on Twitter The modern family Husband of star Jesse Tyler Ferguson Justin Nikita, who was present at the party, reports Buzzfeed News.
Harris was apparently summoned about the image in the past, but as soon as the image reappeared online last week, people without hesitation expressed contempt for the actions of five-time Amy laureate.
One person wrote in a tweet: “I don’t care if it was 10 years ago when Neil Patrick Harris received“ Amy Winehouse Corpse ”3 months after her tragic death, it’s so disturbing. It’s someone’s daughter, girlfriend, loved one, and it’s definitely her. “

“The occasional misogyny of gays like Neil Patrick Harris never surprises me. What could someone own to jokingly make a cake with the image of the corpse of Amy Winehouse? She died tragically, and for whom is it comical? ” said another Twitter user.
Others defended Harris, arguing that the monstrous edible foods were just a joke.
“The whole affair with Neil Patrick Harris, Amy Winehouse, just shows how sad and pathetic some people are. They’ll remember something a decade ago to pretend it’s the worst. Is it in bad taste? A little. But it’s just gloomy humor, for God’s sake, stop it, “- one user wrote in a tweet.
