But while Harry said during his speech that “people like him” don’t win at the Grammys, fans pointed out the opposite, as only 11 black artists have won Album of the Year in the Grammys’ 65-year history. not so Not awarded to a black woman since Lauryn Hill in 1999. (Stiles is the 33rd white man to receive the honor.)
On Twitter, shocked fans wrote: “Harry Styles said ‘this doesn’t happen to people like me very often’ and I honestly can’t imagine what people it happens to more often”; “Harry Styles, a WHITE MAN, standing on stage at the Grammys with an Aoty award in hand and talking about how ‘this doesn’t happen to people like me’ is so ominous sir??? I need you to be the goddamn king that only happens to ‘people like you’.
Another said: “Did Harry Styles just say ‘that doesn’t happen to people like me very often’ when he won album of the year?.. like you’re a normal white guy lol”; “It rarely happens to people like me” – Harry Styles, the 35th white person (and 50th white person) to win the award in the award’s 64-year history, lmao.
Other fans chimed in: “Harry said ‘it doesn’t happen often to people like me.’ Fam yes indeed. Every year…”; “PLEASE Harry Styles stop saying ‘people like me’ when he wins anything. sir I’m rooting FOR YOU but absolutely no one knows what you mean by that and it doesn’t sound good!!’

Low-key: Olivia has been out of work in recent months after a busy 2022 with the release of her film Don’t Worry Darling

One fan said: “A black woman hasn’t won in over 20 years and a hip-hop artist hasn’t won in 19 years. A white man won in 2015.’; “Harry Styles says ‘It doesn’t happen to people like me very often’ as a white Brit who has dated only the most absolutely stunning women in Hollywood and whose biggest act of rebellion is wearing glitter and extremely rich nail polish” .
One Twitter user said: “It doesn’t happen often to people like me,” @Harry_Styles. We disagree, Harry. Mediocre white men receive glamor, accolades and accolades all day, every day over exceptionally talented, amazing black women like @Beyonce. Case in point is this AOTY win. #GRAMYS.’
Harry’s fans were quick to jump to his defense, claiming that he was referring to growing up as a working-class boy in Cheshire, England.
However, Harry – the son of a finance director and an office worker – has himself spoken of his “really good upbringing”, previously saying he could never “play the part of a tortured artist”.

Embarrassing: Harry became the 33rd white man to win the award in the 65-year history of the Grammy Awards. Fans took to Twitter to let him know
