RIO DELLA, Calif. (AP) — Humboldt County officials have released the latest recovery statistics from the December earthquake and aftershocks that hit the Northern California coast.

About 91 buildings were red-tagged as unsafe for habitation, and more than 300 buildings were yellow-tagged, indicating they require safety repairs, the county said in a statement Tuesday.

The county has assisted approximately 117 households with temporary shelter, and the program is no longer accepting new applications, but residents of homes with red or yellow tags may be eligible to renew their shelter vouchers.

The 6.4 magnitude earthquake On December 20, it hit the seashore, followed by hundreds of aftershocks, including a with a magnitude of 5.4 on January 1.

The damage was mostly concentrated in the small town of Rio Del. A housing recovery measure recently approved by the city council noted that 91 unfit buildings included 125 housing units and that nearly 300 people were displaced.
