
Police say 3 dead, 4 injured in latest California shooting
BEVERLY CREST, Calif. (AP) — At least three people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting in a California neighborhood early Saturday morning.
Sergeant Frank Preciado of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the shooting happened just after 2:30 a.m. in Beverly Crest, an upscale area of Los Angeles.
Of the seven shot people, four were standing on the street. Three of the dead were in a car.
Their identities have not been disclosed. The injured were taken to the hospital and are in serious condition.
Preciado said he did not have information about what led to the shooting or whether it happened at the home.
This is the fourth mass shooting in California this month.
For the third year in a row, 2022 saw more than 600 mass shootings in which at least four people were killed or injured in the U.S., according to the Gun Violence Archive.
