The Duke of SussexThe 38-year-old British charity has been a patron for the past 15 years and has appeared in a promotional video for the upcoming awards ceremony.

A father of two who now lives in Montecito, Californiawas casually dressed in a white button-down shirt while filming the short 90-second clip earlier this month.

While working with the charity, the royal said he was “extremely grateful” for the work they do to support seriously ill children and their families in the UK.

He said: “For children and people with complex medical needs, WellChild provides access to high-quality care services and the opportunity to thrive at home with their families.

“WellChild also provides a support network for families facing countless medical, logistical and mental challenges; compounded by a cost-of-living crisis that adds enormous burdens to caring for children who depend on life-saving equipment.”

He then paid tribute to the carers and health workers who also work closely with the families supported by the charity.

Harry added: “I would be remiss if I did not mention the carers and health professionals, doctors, nurses, teachers and play specialists and many others who are also part of the WellChild family.

“They provide life-changing support every day.”

Addressing the cost of living crisis, he continued: “Despite the enormous challenges, WellChild families continue to show a resilience and fortitude that is nothing short of inspiring.”

The Duke ended the video by urging viewers to nominate “someone in their lives who they inspire” for the WellChild award – which is due to take place later this year.

Categories include Inspirational Child or Young Person, Caring Child/Young Person, Outstanding Professional and Inspirational Parent/Carer.

Harry added: “Every year I look forward to meeting the award winners and spreading awareness of this incredible charity.
