
San Diego City Council votes on new short-term lease rules –
MISSION BEACH (KUSI) – The San Diego short-term rental scene could change dramatically.
Lawyers in key tourist areas have for years called for rules to be passed, and finally the San Diego City Council is due to vote on the issue on Tuesday.
Hunter Sowards of KUSI was broadcast live from Mission Beach with more information about this vote.
Residents of areas with high levels of tourism, such as Pacific Beach and Mission Beach, have experienced a seven-year battle with those who say it will be the first time rules have been introduced in an industry they believe has been free for all since growth the popularity of trendy holiday rentals such as Airbnb and Vrbo.
