In the city of Santa Clarita in 2021, the number of shots increased when the industry began to move away from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Santa Clarita film reported 570 film permits and 1,505 film days, bringing the society an economic impact of approximately $ 37.6 million.

That means a 62 percent increase in permits, a 42.6 percent increase in movie days and a 40.8 percent increase in projected economic impact compared to 2020, according to a statement released by Santa Clarita Public Information Officer Kerry Luhan.

In 2021, the film firm recorded more than 500 permits, more than 1,400 movie days and $ 30 million and more of the expected economic impact of on-site filming. The figures do not include film days and the economic benefits of filming on certified sound scenes that do not require permission to shoot.

“Santa Clarita has a rich history of filmmaking and filming locations, and we’re excited to see that the numbers have recovered after the shutdown due to the pandemic,” said Santa Clarita Mayor Lauren West. “The survey provides thousands of jobs locally and supports every segment of our local economy. We continue to be a friendly city for cinema and guarantee that our beautiful valley will remain the best choice for production now … and in the future ”.

Many factors contributed to the continued success of filming in Santa Clarita, including the city’s film incentive program, the ranch film overlay area, low-cost costs and expedited permit processing, and the California Film and Television Tax Credit Program.

The Santa Clarita Valley is also located in the entertainment-friendly “Thirty Mile Zone” and offers thousands of movie-friendly locations that can double the variety.
