THIS is the incredible moment a spearfisherman left-hooks a shark and kills another while battling a prized yellowfin tuna.

TikToker @hideshi_Izu shared an “incredible” clip online of him escaping the jaws of death.

The diver was engaged in underwater hunting in the depths off the coast of Southern California, USA.

The footage showed the moment he beat a huge tuna with his gun.

The bloodied fish torpedoes from the shock, attracting the group sharks that are hidden below.

In the next minute, the sharks rush towards the diver one by one, hitting him.

In the midst of struggling with his catch tangled in the rope, the man sends a left hook into the shark’s jaw, fending off the predator.

But the horror is not over, another shark comes within inches of the diver whose only hope is to stab it with his fillet knife.

Fortunately, the shark takes effect and the man and fish climb aboard the boat alongside.

The incredible video has more than 12 million views.

Keen anglers took to the internet to share their thoughts on the heroic moment.

“Lucky to be alive,” said one.

“If it hadn’t been recorded, LITERALLY NO ONE would have believed him,” said another.

“That’s one crazy story to tell,” said a third.

“At what point do you just give up on tuna,” said another.

The type of shark was not identified, but the attack was consistent with a long-term trend of increasing unprovoked bites.

Researchers from the Florida Museum found that between 2010 and 2019, there were 752 shark attacks worldwide.

Of those, 544 were considered unprovoked attacks on recreational enthusiasts such as surfers and divers.

In 2021, there were 47 unprovoked attacks in the US – a 42% increase from 2020.

In January a diver was decapitated by a gigantic 19-foot great white shark.

Even in Great Britain a A man has been bitten by a shark while scuba diving off the coast of Cornwall.
