Fresno, Calif. (KFSN) — Thousands of people across Europe and the US show their support for Iranian women and human rights.

The communities of the Central Valley gathered today for the second international day of solidarity.

The Iranian-American Alliance of Fresno held a march in North Fresno on Saturday night.

People waved Iranian flags and carried placards at the intersection of Nis and Blackstone streets.

The community joined in commemorating the hundreds of young people killed in Iran’s fifth week of protests and civil disobedience.

Many locals are speaking out, hoping to give their family members in Iran the right to vote.

“My whole family is there,” said organizer Jamal Madani. “We talk on the phone, we tell them we support them, we keep in touch as much as we can, but unfortunately the internet in Iran is down, it doesn’t help us.”

The Fresno Iran-American Alliance says it wants President Biden to help the Iranian people and speak out against the regime.
