The storm drenched the interior valleys and mountains of San Diego, but ignored the coast

A weak Pacific storm brought significant rain to the eastern half of San Diego County before dawn Sunday, but largely ignored the coast. It also caused strong winds in some areas.

The wind will return before dawn on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, Santa Ana’s gusts will be around 25 mph in areas like Ramona and El Cajon, and around 30 mph in the foothills and valleys.

The high surf warning will end at 11am on Monday when the southerly swell that hit the beach over the weekend begins to dissipate.
