They embarked on a two-city press tour starting in New York and ending in Los Angeles to promote pay-per-view grudge match.

The first conference was a cordial affair, but tempers threatened to boil over just 24 hours later when they came face to face again.

Davis seemed to mimic a shot that had just missed Garciawho looked as if he had dodged a shot.

A war of words then ensued before both were told to calm down.

Oscar De La Hoya is co-promoting the fight, more than 15 years after his 2007 blockbuster with Floyd Mayweather.

De La Hoya, now 50, was outmatched by the 46-year-old Mayweather, but celebrated PPV sales of 2.4 MILLION.

But it’s a number he believes his fighter Garcia, 24, and Davis, 28, are capable of surpassing.

De La Hoya said: “I really feel that in terms of the numbers and the business, I really feel like it’s like Mayweather-De La Hoya.

“I believe it can do — you know, people called me crazy when I said it could do two million houses — I believe it could break 2.4 million houses, like me and Mayweather. It’s such a big fight.

“When I think about it, I think Tank and Ryan, maybe Tank, are bigger than Mayweather [was] when he fought me, with world titles and him [has] popularity and Instagram followers and this and that.

“So we’re in a different world. We’re in a different, you know, time, and, you know, these kids are the best.

“And the fact that they’re at war with each other creates a perfect storm.”
