(Santa Ana, CA) – The OC Health Agency (HCA) is encouraging community members to drop off expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, October 29th from 10am to 2pm on National Take Back Day. throughout Orange County (approx.).

In Santa Ana, you can bring your old, unused and expired medications to the SAPD Westend Substation – 3750 W. McFadden Ave Suite IOctober 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

“This is a great opportunity for people to clean up their medicine cabinets while helping to keep the health and well-being of those they love,” said Dr. Veronica Kelly, HCA’s Head of Mental Health and Wellness. “Pharmaceuticals can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or under a doctor’s supervision. The opioid crisis is nationwide and here in Orange County. Participating in events like National Giveback Day makes an impact.”

This initiative addresses an important issue of public safety and public health. The National Take Back Event supports HCA’s commitment to the safety and health of the OC community by encouraging the public to remove unwanted medications from homes to prevent opioid abuse and addiction.

Take Back Day helps bring attention to this pressing issue and reminds us that together we can keep our communities safe.
