EL CAJON (CUSI) – El Cajon is one of San Diego County’s largest electoral districts, representing San Diego in its diversity, diverse cultures and divisive political makeup.

El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells called out San Diego County for “unfairly” handing out motel vouchers, since El Cajon apparently hosts a large majority of the county’s homeless population.

Wells questioned why more affluent cities like Del Mar and La Jolla couldn’t shelter the homeless, but County Executives Joel Anderson and Nathan Fletcher responded aggressively, saying Wells knew he was lying.

Homelessness is a major focus of Wells’ campaign against Arnold Levine for mayor of El Cajon.

Wells joined KUSI’s Lauren Feeney to talk about his company and what he hopes to do for El Cajon over the next four years.
