College of the Canyons has partnered with Arizona State University to provide students with a seamless transfer experience through the MyPath2ASU program. MyPath2ASU enables students to take the steps necessary early in college to successfully plan their transition to ASU, ensuring a smooth transition process and student success.

MyPath2ASU is a set of customized tools available for transfer students from accredited US regional institutions. These tools ensure a seamless transition to ASU after earning credits or an associate’s degree at a US community college or university and shorten the time to degree.

“We are very excited to enter into this partnership with Arizona State University because of the opportunities it will provide students to pursue their educational goals,” said Dr. Jasmine Ruiz, COC Vice President of Student Services. “COC students will be able to earn an associate’s degree and then seamlessly transfer to a variety of bachelor’s degree programs offered by Arizona State University with classes offered online and at the Los Angeles campus. We are also working with ASU to make their classes available in the near future at the Dr. Diane G. Van Hook University Center.”

Through this partnership, students using MyPath2ASU will find their transfer experience simplified. They’ll have access to personalized benefits to help them navigate the transfer, including:

– End-to-end navigation of students on course routes

– Ensure course applicability by helping students complete courses that apply to their ASU associate and bachelor’s degrees

– Guaranteed general admission to ASU and admission to MyPath2ASU electives if all requirements are met; some majors have additional or higher entry requirements

– More than 400 courses in ASU’s immersion courses and online degree programs

– Self-service, progress tracking through My Transfer Guide to minimize credit loss

– A connected experience through ASU’s personalized connection for academic preparation and connecting with ASU

– ASU and College of the Canyons will collaborate to promote educational programs that include on-site and online courses. These pathways ensure that their courses are applicable to their chosen major and minimize credit loss.

Arizona State University has developed a new model for the American research university, creating an institution committed to access, excellence and impact. ASU measures itself by those it includes, not those it excludes. As the prototype of the New American University, ASU conducts research that contributes to the public good, and ASU assumes great responsibility for the economic, social, and cultural vitality of the communities that surround it.
