The Santa Clarita Artists Association’s colorful mural on the gallery building at 22508 6th St. in Old Town Newhall will be featured on the CBS TV show “SWAT”
SCAA received $1,000 for use of the image.
The mural was painted on the side of the SCAA gallery and depicts plein air artists, sketch artists and photographers next to wildflowers and rolling hills.
“SCAA received a $1,000 donation from Topanga Productions and Sony CBS Pictures. Our mural was part of a scene they were filming for the CBS show “SWAT”. The ninth episode of Pariah is scheduled for January 6, 2023,” said Kathy Gonzalez, SCAA President. The unexpected donation was welcomed by all SCAA members.
A citywide dedication of the mural took place on June 24, 2022, with Mayor Lauren West and Susan Shapiro of the Santa Clarita Arts Commission as guest speakers.
