WhatsApp not working or connecting: Why do messages have one tick?

Read Time:51 Second

Reports of problems began appearing on Down Detector, a website for reporting outages, around 8 a.m.

Why are WhatsApp messages not being delivered?

According to the website, 92% of users have reported problems sending messages, and the number of messages has quickly risen to more than 12,000 at the time of writing.

Users flocked to social media to share their woes, with tweets and memes galore.

One user wrote: “WhatsApp not working? My messages are not sending.”

While another said: “Anyone having problems with WhatsApp?”

Another wrote: “I’m not the only one who opened twitter to check if WhatsApp was down then,” prompting many responses about problems with the app.

According to user reports, the messages are not delivered to the recipients, the delivery report shows only one check mark.

One tick means that the message has been sent, two – delivered to the sender.

At the time of writing WhatsApp did not confirm any outages.
