Why Newsom turned against the Democrats. for the benefit of the rich –
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – One of the propositions that will appear on the ballot in California on November 8th will be Proposition 30.
This proposal aims to raise taxes on the wealthy to fund wildfire relief and electric vehicle infrastructure.
It’s a classic Democratic proposition: raise taxes on the upper class to fund public goods. Gov. Gavin Newsom turned to his own party to counter support, likely because his constituents and supporters are made up of both the left and California’s elite.
KUSI’s Lauren Feeney is joined by Bill Magavern, policy director of the Clean Air Coalition, to discuss why this proposal is necessary for the future of California’s air quality.
