2 people are dead after a crash involving a big rig in Fresno County, according to the CHP

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — Two women died Monday afternoon after a crash involving a big rig in Fresno County.

The women have been identified as 64-year-old Leslie Boston and 35-year-old Fatima Ramba.

The California Highway Patrol says it happened near Russell and Shields avenues around 4:30 p.m.

Officers say the driver of the Toyota failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a large tower.

Boston and Rambo died on the spot. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the big rig was not injured.

Officers say drugs or alcohol are not factors at this time.
