Bowhouse Roundabout: A76 roadworks in East Ayrshire

Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

From Thursday 3rd November to Tuesday 8th November, the A76 will be undergoing maintenance work at the Bowhouse roundabout.

The road was supposed to launch a similar scheme back in February, but a decision was made to cancel the works.

The full closure will apply across the various periods of the scheme, which will cost £118,660.

A road closure will be in place overnight with a detour in place from 8pm on Thursday 3 November until 6am on Friday 4 November.

There will be a full weekend closure from 8pm Friday 4th November to 6am Monday 7th November.

The closure will be continuous with a detour in place.

The final overnight closure will be in effect from 8:00 PM on Monday, November 7 until 6:00 AM on Tuesday, November 8. A signed detour will be in effect at this time.

Diversion

A76 northbound traffic will be diverted via the first exit at the Crossroads roundabout onto the A719 southbound to the Sandyford Toll roundabout.

From here traffic will take the third exit to join the A77 northbound to the Bellfield junction. A76 southbound traffic will follow the same route but in reverse.

Local access will only be allowed on the A76 between Bowhouse Roundabout and Belfield Junction and between Bowhouse Roundabout and Crossroads.

Access to HMP Kilmarnock will be maintained for the duration of these works via the B7303. All remaining traffic on the B7303 will be diverted north to the A71 to make local diversions eastbound or westbound as required.

Traffic bosses in Amey say all traffic will be suspended until 6am on Tuesday 8 November.

Access for emergency services vehicles will be provided during these works.
