Comedian and actor Leslie Jordan, known for his roles on “Will & Grace” and “American Horror Story,” died in a car crash Monday morning in Hollywood, sources confirmed to The Times.

Jordan, 67, won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006 for her portrayal of Beverly Leslie on the TV show Will & Grace.

Jordan was driving a BMW when it crashed into the side of a building at Cahuenga Boulevard and Roman Street in Hollywood at 9:30 a.m., Los Angeles police officer Lizbeth Lamelli told The Times. The longtime actor and writer was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s unclear whether Jordan died in the crash or whether he had a medical emergency beforehand, but the condition of the vehicle suggests Jordan may have lost control of the vehicle before the crash, a law enforcement source said.

After his big break in 1989 when he was cast in the first season of Murphy Brown, Jordan’s 30-year career has been marked by scene-stealing roles in television shows such as Body of Evidence and Hearts on Fire.

His rise to fame came with appearances on NBC’s Will & Grace, as well as Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story franchise and Cool Kids, in which he played an eccentric, confident retiree Sid Delacroix.

Most recently, while in an apartment in his native Chattanooga, Tennessee, Leslie found internet viral fame with an ongoing series of Instagram videos where he joked about daily life in quarantine, featuring his lively Southern accent.

This is breaking news and will be updated as more information becomes available.
