Huawei plans to release a new flip phone in November
Huawei plans to launch a new foldable phone, the Pocket S, next week, continuing its line of clamshell-style foldable phones that debuted last year with Pocket P50.
Peking company posted the video on Monday, teasing a November 2 launch date for the Huawei Pocket S as well as available colors. This hints that the Pocket S will be available in six colors, with each letter of the word “pocket” having a different color. That means we’ll likely see the Pocket S in black, pink, blue, yellow, white, and green.
The P50 Pocket, launched last year, is Huawei’s answer Galaxy Z Flip from Samsung series, with a clamshell design that folds into a small square. Visually, it’s similar to a Samsung phone, but has two large circles on the outside, one with the triple-camera unit and the other acting as an external display that shows the time and incoming notifications.

The upcoming Pocket S is rumored to be powered by a 4G chipset that will either be the Snapdragon 888 4G or the Snapdragon 778G. Rumors also suggest that Huawei plans to eliminate the small screen on the front panel. This Pocket S is reportedly a lower-end version of the original P50 Pocket, which was launched in the UK and Europe for around £1,090 and £1,005 respectively, following their launch in China last year. (£1,090 converts to about $1,235, AU$1,950.)
Pocket S is scheduled to launch in China. It is not yet clear if the device will receive an international release.
