Lyft brings back monthly subscription plan for half off • TechCrunch
Ride-hailing giant Lyft has relaunched its Lyft Pink monthly subscription plan at half its previous price. Priced at $9.99 a month or $99 a year, the new membership offers perks like free priority pickup and a “minimum” 5% discount on Preferred, Lux and XL rides, the company said. said Tuesday.
Members will also receive three free cancellations per month, a free monthly bike or scooter unlock, a free Sixt car rental upgrade, roadside assistance for your own vehicle up to four times per year and Grubhub+ discounts.
Previously, Lyft Pink provided members with discounts on all rides. The company said members saved an average of $29 a month on travel, not including the cost of membership. So they actually saved an average of $19 on their trips.
Lyft is also promoting higher tiers or memberships for riders who enjoy riding bikes and scooters. The $199/year Lyft Pink All Access plan has all the benefits of Lyft Pink with unlimited 45-minute pedal bike rides, free unlimited e-bike and scooter unlocks, discounted e-bike and scooter minutes participating citiesas well as three guest bike or scooter passes per year, according to Lyft.
Top drivers participating in the Lyft Rewards driver rewards program will now also have access to a free monthly Lyft Pink membership, the company said.
