In theory, the idea of creating a so-called capsule wardrobe is noble, as it’s undeniably easy to rely on a limited collection of items when dressing for any occasion. But here’s the thing: whenever we read anything about how to build a capsule wardrobe, we’re met with a litany of clichés and a limited view of what a woman wants and should look like. Clearly composed collections of basics, Breton stripes and puffs on buttons, trench coats, sophisticated watches that look luxurious and ambiguous. Everything is out of time, with taste and allergy to trends. And that’s exactly why it’s unattainable and, frankly, boring.

Not every woman wants to look like a modern Jackie O, and why? If you like the classics, great! But our wardrobe should not stifle us. This menswear item could become a major trend for the Fall 2022 season. Carla Rockmore (stylist, jewelry designer and social media representative “The Real Life of Carrie Bradshaw”) especially like the loose fit, but the fitted styles rely on practical comfort and add versatility to wardrobe items. “It’s the quickest way to elevate the black crew-neck sweater we’ve been wearing all winter,” she says. Stylish blogger Talia Hubble agrees. “I like the baggy pants that I’m rocking New Balance sneakers and the sweatshirt can also be paired with a black turtleneck, a skinny belt and chunky heels for a neat evening look.”
