Taylor Swift no stranger to rethinking, and for her appearance on October 24 at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonthe songwriter seems to have reimagined herself as Diane Keaton. Dorothee Schumacher’s black and white chevron three-piece suit from Swift pairs trousers with boots and a tailored jacket over a mock neck turtleneck. She paired the look with cherry red lips (natch), hoops and chunky black boots.

Swift’s outfit is a great example of the look that Keaton perfected in the 1970s and has maintained through each decade since. Maybe Peake-Keaton added a crisp white shirt between the turtleneck and the jacket, and maybe a floppy hat, but I’m not buying it.

Swift, of course, was on Today’s show promote her new album At midnight, not that he really needed the promotion. As Fallon noted in the first few seconds of their conversation, the album has already broken sales and streaming records, receiving rave reviews from the likes of Rolling Stone. Additionally, the album’s star-studded music videos are garnering plenty of independent attention.

incl Fallon, Swift said she chose to cast Mike Birbiglia and Mary Elizabeth Ellis in her “Anti-Hero” video because they have a mostly good vibe. After meeting Birbiglia at a party at Fallon’s house, Swift said she had already written “Anti-Hero” and then decided she wanted to make it into a video. “I also met Mary Elizabeth Ellis at the party,” Swift said. “So it’s a great way to throw things. No one has to audition. Just come and say hi at the party,” she joked.
